An International Network for Free Healthcare
Medical Volunteers International Hellas (MVIH) aims to create a world where everyone has access to the healthcare that they need, regardless of race, gender, or social origin. This Greek non-profit NGO was founded in 2020 and works closely with Medical Volunteers International (MVI) from Germany.
This international cooperation enables both organizations to provide medical care and treatment for the most socially disadvantaged in Greek society who otherwise would not have access to healthcare. Every year, with the help of 300 medically qualified volunteers from all over the world, an estimated 4,000 people per month receives medical care in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Lesbos.
After the establishment of MVIH, all MVI projects in Germany will be transferred to the Greek NGO in a step-by-step manner. The partner organisation in Germany will continue to coordinate volunteers, advise the organisational development of MVIH, and thus secure a permanent know-how transfer between German and Greek civil society.
